In late 2013, I joined with Raj Jeyakumar to co-found SkillBridge, a site dedicated to disrupting the traditional consulting industry by providing an online marketplace for short and medium term independent consultants. I’m very excited to have a major role in the HR-tech and talent revolution!
At SkillBridge, I work day-to-day as the Head of Marketing. Along with my Creative Director, Kevin Smith, I have created some excellent email marketing campaigns, advertisements, and sales materials to sell the ideas behind buying consulting services online.
In September 2013, I started wordsmithing for the marketing team at Shapeways.com. Shapeways is the world’s leading 3D Printing marketplace, and you can 3D Print whatever you want in 40 different materials.
In June 2013, I was tasked with creating the brand strategy and copy that would surround the launch of the luxury fashion e-commerce retailer Handvaerk.com. I was given creative control to shape the way that this site communicated its unique story to its ultra-high end customers.
In early 2013, I became the Resident Storyteller on the Brand Strategy team at Quirky.com. Believe me, there are so many inventor and invention stories to be told! Quirky is an extremely fast-paced work environment, and as Resident Storyteller I developed and refined the Quirky brand narrative framework, headed social media efforts, wrote and edited the Quirky blog, launched three new consumer products every week, curated/selected product names and taglines, planned, wrote, and executed copy for hundreds of product packages, dozens of retail displays, and product pitches, and created hype around weekly product evaluation panels by bringing in VIPs to serve as panelists.
In early 2012, I became the in-house copywriter for Seamless.com, the world’s leading digital food ordering service, and have since created advertising campaigns and one-offs across many channels including email, direct mail, social media, radio, web video, direct response television, blogs, and more. I also worked on other creative marketing/branding projects (e.g. creating tone/voice/brand guidelines) with a top-notch creative director and a world-class design team. It was an awesome ride.
